Who Needs Fisher Price?

In a country where Fisher-Price doesn't exist a mom has to be pretty creative about how to entertain her baby. The funny thing is is that it's not too much of a challenge for me because Daniel prefers to play with ordinary houselhold things over the expensive, store-bought stuffed play toys anyways. His newest find - the container that the Q-tips come in... who would have thought...?

Daniel is just starting to teethe and wants to gnaw on anything insight - including the silk flowers on our coffee table (the one with most of the leaves torn off is his), the bedposts (I tasted them, they aren't that bad!), and the newest find... the end of my brush (after the first time I gave it to him, I made a mental note next time I give it to him, to remove the hair before I give it to him!).

I think most new mothers tend to think that their baby is smarter than the average baby and that he's one of very few that can do things a certain way. Later, come to find out that all babies do things that way! But, I'm still convinced that our little Danny, is a little more clever than normal...

He's so sweet! I really love to see pictures of him! :-)

And its so great to hear about your relationship with him. I really love to read blogs because its such a neat way to have insight into a person's daily lives and, you being so far away and all, its hard to know what is going on there with you and Reza and Danny. Thank you for sharing! I hope you keep coming back with more posts!

I love you! By the way, it was so great to chat with you the other day!!!!

babies really don't need all the expensive toys americans give their kids---like you found, they love basic, ordinary things--sometimes more than toys!!
